Fr!day Frames currently does not accept insurance, however some insurance companies may reimburse you for your prescription glasses or contact lenses. If you qualify for reimbursement, contact us at info@fridayframes.com and will send you a copy of your invoice. We do accept payments with FSA and/or HSA credit cards.
Optical prescriptions are typically written in two horizontal rows: the top row being OD (right eye) and the bottom being OS (left eye). Each of these rows will have sphere (SPH), cylinder (CYL) and axis measurements. Sphere corrects for nearsightedness or farsightedness (-/+). Cylinder and axis correct for astigmatism. Some RXs might have an "ADD" measurement which corrects for the reading power in a bifocal or progressive lens, so if you have an ADD measurement, make sure you choose "Progressive" under "Prescription Type" when placing your order.
You can call your doctor and ask if they have your PD on file, if they don’t, don’t worry! You can measure your PD yourself.
“Am I doing this right?”: Your binocular PD should fall between 55-75mm. Your monocular PD should fall between 15 and 40mm. If your numbers aren't in that range, you may not be measuring correctly. Measure a few times for quality assurance.
Nope! Glasses sit slightly away from your eyes while contact lenses sit directly on top of them, meaning they require two different sets of measurements. Only purchase glasses with a glasses RX, and only purchase contacts with a contact lens RX.
A single vision lens is just that- it corrects your vision at a single distance. For example, if you have trouble seeing far away but can see at all other distances clearly, you only need vision correction at a single distance. For folks who have trouble seeing at multiple distances, say, reading things close up AND seeing things far away- progressive lenses have different vision corrective powers in different parts of the lens. You can look up and clearly see into the distance, or you can shift your gaze downward to read the newspaper (or your phone…) seamlessly.
Absolutely! We have a lens replacement tab which allows you to send your frame to us, at --------- after submitting it on the site. We will then shape the new lenses, pop them into your favorite frame and ship your glasses back to you. We are not responsible for mail loss or frame breakages.
Nope! We'll send you your glasses back with the new lenses inside.
For glasses/lenses: about two weeks. All lenses are made-to-order, so once you place your order, we’ll get your lenses in the works. That can take up to one week. Once they’re ready, we’ll ship them to you which will take about a week depending on where you live. For contacts: 7-10 business days
My frames don’t fit me correctly. Can they be adjusted?
We are able to provide free adjustments at any Vision Plus location in Washington state or Optical London Drugs location in Canada. We are constantly seeking new vendors to help with adjustments. You can also visit any optical in your area and ask them to help adjust the frame.
